While in the literature, we identified that the antimicrobial activity of benzofuran derivatives appears to get far more dependent on substitution with the heterocyclic furan ring than on substitution in the aromatic moiety.60 Telvekar and co-workers investigated a series of benzofuran-three-carbohy
